Fall Trend: THE NEW LOOK
Vintage pieces are in vogue, with nostalgia making a strong comeback this fall-winter 2024/2025. We’re seeing a revival of the mid-century look: The New Look and its intrinsic escapism.
Christian Dior introduced his first Haute Couture collection, dubbed the New Look, in 1947, showcasing a highly feminine silhouette with a cinched waist, Corolle skirts, and impeccable tops.
Post-war fashion sought to recapture the glamorous and escapist character of the Roaring Twenties, reflecting in the clothing. The New Look silhouette is defined by full skirts, fitted bodices, and wasp-waist shapes. Dior’s “flower-woman” with voluminous silhouettes fascinated many women and emphasized feminine forms through clothing.
